I’m too SEXY for my art…

Bodies of Art....

WORD?!?!

In the tradition of great model-based enterprises like The Fashion Cafe (NYC), The Tyra Banks show and The Derek Zoolander School for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Want to Do Other Stuff Good Too comes Ford Model Agency’s own FP Art Gallery. Sorry to disappoint you, but despite my dazzling good looks and rock hard abs, the “FP” stands for fordPROJECT. Slated to launch this month, in the not surprisingly trendy, historic Warren and Wetmore building on 57th St. in NYC, this trendy two-story penthouse gallery seeks to champion innovative projects, exhibitions and installations. The press release states that fordPROJECT will “present a unique alternative to the traditional fine art models and will offer innovation for artists, curators, collectors, organizations, institutions and estates.”

This could be exciting news for the art world ushering in a return of disheveled, manic depressive painters inexplicably linked to insanely gorgeous super-models. You know that I’m joking right? Obvioulsy the cocaine will be the link to everyone invited to these hip and fashionable openings. Don’t believe me? Well you will when you see how big the bathrooms are compared to the exhibition space. There hasn’t been this much clashing of the fine art and entertainment worlds since the days of Andy Warhol and the downtown scene of the late 60’s and 70’s.

No artists or exhibitions have been listed yet, the site is simply a mission statement at this point. But one thing’s for sure, the art exhibits (or at least the people in attendance) will be really, really good lookin’.
