Scrub the ground…
You may remember a few weeks back, I was given an exclusive invitation to sit down with the newest rap phenom, The Soggy Bottom Boys. The group consists of underground rap legend Lil Travesty who learned how to rhyme by noticing that certain words, when spelled alike “…had rhyming sounds like bee and tree”; former child actor and rapper HOPELESS, who once appeared on an episode of Family Matters as the bully who stole Little Richie’s lunch money; and the self-proclaimed “Thuglord Kingpin” Yung Downfall, noted for taking a sabbatical from his lucrative trafficking enterprise to record with TSBB.
These young dudes are a fine example of what rap music has become. As evidenced by the success of their first single “NUTTIN MONEY” I have no doubt that their sound will take them far. They recently signed with former pro-athlete Deronte “D’Struk” Strukland’s label, Self D’Struk Records which has a history of putting out music and artists that live up to the label’s motto of “killing the game”, but TSBB takes it to a new level.
Needless to say I was honored to be the first to receive a copy of their debut video with a personal note from Lil Travesty himself that read:
“Ey folk. Put dih shit hurr on yo innanet. U da first n***a n da A to play dih shit. P.S. Thank you for the coloring books”.
So apparently this becomes a world premiere… Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the latest single AND video from The Soggy Bottom Boys:
